TC TO CHAPMAN & HALL
[ca. 20 April 1843]
The Book looks very beautiful.—
The only reviewer I remember at present to whom I am under special promise is “Thomas Ballantyne Esq. Guardian Office, Manchester”; pray despatch him a copy with from the Publishers on it.
Forster, I conclude, has already got a copy; he seemed to be in haste for it.
There is one Editor at Dumfries,—to whom, if you are professly sending copies, one might be despatched: “Thomas Aird [Aird] Esq, Herald Office, Dumfries.” Nay there are two Editors there, but the other is a blockhead:1——— I shall probably bethink me of several others by and by; and need a few Friends'-Copies more; but am in a great bustle at this moment.
You will of course lose no time in despatching these parcels according to their address.
With many thanks for your punctuality.
