Chelsea 4 feby, 1846—

The scandalous people promised me the Print1 for you long ago; taught me to consider it as a thing done!— If it do not come tomorrow, send me the smallest notice, and I will bring it myself.

My abode is once more the Dust-rose-taxes2 and Kingdoms of the Dead!— I will call soon, some day about 3 or a little after,—but with little hope of finding you.

Vivat [Long live] Peel,—poor Peel whose words are usually false, but whose acts have a real truth in them!3— Ever yours

T. Carlyle
