TC TO EDWARD CHAPMAN
Chelsea, 28 April, 1846—
Dear Sir,
I have now got done with Cromwell, all but the Proofs; and am ready any day to hear what you have to say about those other Books you were once talking of.
Meanwhile will you be so good as send me a Copy of the Hero-worship and of the F. Revolution (no matter how slightly bound): for I have to revise them at any rate for the American people. I find Hero-worship will be the one to begin with;—and there is no Copy here fit for my purpose.
The third vol of Cromwell will still be a trifle too long; I think, some 50 or 60 pages.
Yours always truly /
T. Carlyle
