[26 November 1847]

Dear Forster,—Many thanks; you have really done me a deliverance by that Eyre:1—but where is the 3d volume! Is it under durance, at the reviewer's, till today?2 Pray send the 3d volume too;—and by way of saving time, will you address it direct, “To The Lady Harriet Baring, 12. Gt Stanhope Street, Stanhope Gate, Hyde Park,”—where I dare say it will be in requisition tomorrow. No writing needed.

Mrs C. is busy with Goldsmith; finds it “very nice reading,” as is natural.

Yours always /

T. Carlyle
