TC TO JOHN FORSTER
Chelsea, Wednesday [1 March 1848] 4½ o'clock
Dear Forster,
If Henry come over tomorrow about three o'clock, I hope to give him a column or two (half-done at present) of horrible matter,—which I do not think is very fit for printing. It must go as a Leader, if at all: my Name to it,—which besides, I fear, will be too superfluous,—would be an innovation, rather of a protrusive nature. “Louis Philippe” I think of calling the thing:—it is horrible verily!
Yours ever /
T. Carlyle
