TC TO RALPH WALDO EMERSON
Thursday [6 July 1848] 4 o'clock (Piccadilly).
I cannot at this moment say within a few minutes when our Train starts tomorrow,—for I have left my own railway book, and cannot get a bill. But this I can say, and let this suffice:
We breakfast at Chelsea tomorrow at 9,—tea and coffee shall be ready for you if you come; and no waiting if you do not. Our Train (I think) is at 11;—at all events you must be at Chelsea not later than half past 10, and as much earlier as you like. That is all.
I have seen Helps, and am again to see him. No other of the people interested in our affairs could I yet see.
Yours always /
