Dear Sir,

Here is a little Book for Eckermann once Goethe's Secretary; which if you can send to him by any moderately speedy conveyance, you will add another to your many kindnesses to me in that sort. I suppose Leipzig will be the nearest place which you have communication with? I have promised Eckermann that, by one of your many lines of communication, you will convey it soon.— The Parcel, containing nothing but a Book, can be opened or modified in any way, if that be a convenience.
