1. [Edward Sterling], The Letters of Vetus, 2 pts. (1812), a reprinting of Sterling's letters to the Times, 1812, under the signature “Vetus [Someone Ancient].” In his Life of Sterling TC said he read them in the Times but what they were about “I do not know” (Works 11:23–24). TC's copy of Edward Sterling's corrected copy of the second edn. (1812) is at Carlyle's House, Chelsea.
