TC TO G. H. LEWES

Chelsea, 2 March 1852

Dear Lewes,

It is far too long since I saw you,—especially with so many changes taking place, in the weather and the world! Come to us tomorrow (Wednesday) Evening, if you can contrive it; we are here and doing nothing then. I have a Novel of Auerbach's (Neues Leben, not likely to be read by me soon), which probably you ought to review? I shall be much at your service at that end.—In fine come, and I will tell you about several things. Yours ever truly / T. Carlyle
