Dear Sir,
Here is the list of Books: I chiefly want No 1, 2, 4, 6,—and a good answer to No 8.1 If Mr Warren2 will take right pains with this problem, and bring me a thorough solution of it (which I know will task his diligence and intelligence), he may do me a valuable service. On or before this day week, I will expect his answer: “Here they are,” or else, “Need not be sought in London.” I recommend myself to his loyalty and energy!—
