Chelsea, 4 jany, 1854—

Dear Sir,

I left you the Burns today; but perceive now I should have added that the Johnson was paid for, and that all was right there.1

I do not perceive any reason there can be for lingering with this small adventure of the Essays, nor why they should not be all selling, and helping to sell one another, at the same time. However, you will have it so; and it does not even to myself make much difference. Be it as you will.

Yours always truly /

T. Carlyle
