Mem. in regard to the Cromwell Letter:

1. If you could say, in what part of the State-Paper Office the Letter lies; what Vol. &c,—in short, how one could find it if wishing a sight of it.1

2. What part of the Letter, or whether any but the signature, is autograph? The spelling, I suppose, you have modernised, as you went on, in copying it?

3. What is the Specific Address of the Letter; or has it none (the Address lost) except in some Catalogue or Docketing?

4. Where you find any account, or mention otherwise, of Thomas Fincham, of Oatwell, Isle of Ely?

If you could be so kind as mark these things on a bit of paper; and send it me by post, I should then be master of this Cromwell Letter, and able to reposit it among its fellows for future use.
