My dear Sir,
Here is the Proof, which I have looked over: your Printer has already managed singularly well with it, and left few errors.1
On the whole I am glad to see, the poor Project is still alive: pray spur the Royal Academy2 a little; if they do not go ahead at all, it is clear they never will arrive! I think, you should choose some good time, and fling it into the Newspapers; they, if they once took to blowing the business, would raise smoke out of it, and flame at last. Go ahead!—
If you could spare me a Half-dozen Copies of that Paper, so soon as you have completed it, I think there are people I could send them to with advantage. In fact why not send them up and down to all manner of distinguished Scotchmen and likely people? (Especially the Newspaper Editors; now or at some fitter time?)
