Mainhill, Saturday, 8th May [1824]—
Dear Sir,
I have looked over these Proofs, and along with them I send you the remainder of Meister. I expect to receive other seven sheets very shortly: with these I purpose to transmit you the Preface, which will not occupy above a score of pages. It will be ten days or perhaps a fortnight (not likely more) before I leave the country: but in the meanwhile you can proceed with the printing at whatever rate you please. Here is copy in abundance, and the coach affords a sure & ready conveyance.
