Here are 6 volumes (to be bound in 4) of Oeuvres de Frédéric, belonging to the London Library:1 they should have been bound long since; and I send them up (guaranteeing you), with petition for speed,—now that your man is here. Along with them comes a specimen of your old form of Binding that Work. I think there is probably still another volume (or pair that will make one) ready for Binding,—one half of it still at the London Library;—I will look into that tomorrow or next day, and directly send you word about it, if there is anything to be done. Otherwise take it for nothing, and go on at your best speed.

I am much and often in want of both those Books Frederic and Voltaire;2 and it will be a good action of you, and a great favour, to get them done for me, right and with all despatch!

T. Carlyle
