TC TO JOSEPH NEUBERG
Chelsea, Friday [10 October 1856].
Dear Neuberg,—I am again in my own dreadful element, up to the chin here; and sadly foreign to it till I get used again.
Here are Two Mss. (3 indeed, but the third not momentous at all), which you may try your hand upon as formerly. I will not bother you much farther with such things;—I am contriving a more legitimate method of getting all that managed.
At 3½ p.m. any day, I,—and I think almost any evg at tea-time, we, are at home.— — My health is not come round to the new element yet, and for the prest seems worse than before. I must get thro’ this thrice-unblessed business, or do worse,—with what health there is!
Yours always truly /
T. Carlyle
