Dear Neuberg,
I know not whether this response from Romilly,1 whh came to me today, has otherwise reached you: unfortunately its2 puts a conclusion on the State— Paper project.3 I know not what is next to be tried. It strikes me there will be no sure resource from Literature, to the extent you require, except by some steady engagement with a Daily Newspaper, if that prove feasible; whh perhaps you will not like.
Happily you have still Germany, and its cheapness, to rearward: but I hope we shall not be driven on that.— In whatever I can do, command me.
My pen and ink are scandalous,—I sit writing down stairs here, late at night.
