TC TO MR. WARREN

Memorandum to Mr Warren.

Revd Walter Welsh / Auchtertool / Fife / by Edinburgh,—to whom a Copy of each Volume was to be sent as it came out,—has got duly the 2 of French Revolution; but has heard nothing yet of any of the Cromwell Volumes.1 Will you be so good as take order in regard to this (whether the others that go to Glasgow &c are all right, I don't know);—and please send a Note at any rate to Mr Welsh, informing him what Bookseller in Edinr gets charge of the volumes; so that, if there be farther delay, he may apply in person.

2. To send a Copy of the Cromwell (no more) to “David Laing Esq, Signet Library, Edinburgh”:—it ought to have his name written on Vol i; but unless you can (t.o.) send your man down hither with one, some forenoon while it is still time, I do not see how that is to be done. I am here till 3 p.m. always.— Or here is a bit of paper, properly inscribed, to get bound-in as a fly-leaf, if you prefer that method?
