Chelsea, 22 Septr (Wedy) 1858 4½ p.m.

Arrived one instant ago; safe, tho' considerably mashed. Particulars tomorrow: All seems right here: Nero, after inquiry, expressed a decent joy. Charlotte (very clean and tidy) is out for a mutton-chop, “one & good”; Piper has already called for Nero.— Write instantly! I hoped to have found something from you. If you are only right there is nothing now in jeopardy. Thank God!—

T. Carlyle

Shall I walk to Sloane Square, then; I or Charlotte?—
