We have the kindest Letter from Goethe and a Book1 wherein are the most wonderful things—Craigenputtoch itself represented in a copperplate to the very life, and a Preface all about it—and thy son—thy Son!!—You shall see it, and hear it Dear Mother when we come down, but the Wife would not lend that Book out of her hands to the King's majesty itself,—nay she will not let anyone touch it except through silk paper
