TC TO HENRY INGLIS
Cheyne Row, Chelsea, London / 2ndJune 1835—
My Dear Inglis, 1
Will you give the Bearer, Dr Zachariae2 welcome to your City, for my sake and his own. He is a young man of intelligence and sincerity; will give you news of Germany without troubling you to speak German.
It strikes me that Moir3 ought also to see him; as a man of Law, a German, and above all one of the firmest Conservatives now going. If indeed Moir is still alive; which I trust and believe him to be, tho' he sends me not the faintest sign!
Yours always faithfully, /
T. Carlyle.
