TC TO JANE WILSON
[24 January 1838]
My dear Miss Wilson,
I will come on Saturday. Before that time I hope to give you a copy of Walter Scott;—which you must not stick in the middle of, as you have done in poor De La Martine!1
I am very sickly, cold, dispirited; and go nowhither, except moping about, wrapt in my cloak and in my own reflexions, or I should have been to see you ere now.
Believe me always, / Faithfully yours / T. Carlyle
Chelsea, Wednesday.
