TC TO HENRIETTA MARIA STANLEY
5. Cheyne Row, Chelsea, / Monday 2 March .
Dear Mrs Stanley
It will be, as always, a great pleasure to me to attend you on the 14th.
Believe me / Yours very sincerely
P. S. Could not you, who have the gift of persuasion, and go about, I should fancy, diffusing smiles and compliance,—patronise us a little in this matter of the London Library! Who knows but Mr Stanley1 might assent, if well besieged; nay perhaps his Uncle the Bishop,2 who might do us an immensity of good! It seems to me one of the most desirable of all institutions at present;—it and many like it.
