TC TO JOHN FORSTER
Chelsea, Tuesday [9 March 1841]—
Dear Forster,
Can you have by tomorrow about 3 o'clock the d'Israeli Charles First1 ready for me, if I manage to send?— I am running off to the Isle of Wight (where I have a Brother in these weeks); I have had the ugliest influenza, and am still fit for nothing. My detestation of the pavement has risen to kind of transcendent pitch.— I go on thursday; and am collecting a few Books to take with me.
Your unfortunate! /
T. Carlyle
You never had Ashburnham's Narrative2 I think?
