TC TO LIVERPOOL STEAMER COMPANY

Seaforth House, 3 Augt / 1846—

A Horse, as you formerly had some warning, will come tonight between 5 and 6, to go by the Victoria Steamer to Annan, where Mr Carlyle, to whom the Horse is addressed, will have a man in waiting for him. Horse, with horsecloth and roller with bridle, saddle with gambadoes; a very good-natured animal, tho' of timorous and spirited temper,—a little delicate in health at present, having had a cold some time ago.— The Groom will help you on board with him; and I hope your people will be careful. He has been used to lie out for a week past; and must not be straitened for air.

T. Carlyle
