TC TO JOHN FORSTER

Chelsea, 20 May, 1847—

Dear Forster,—I will stay for you on Saturday; indeed till 2 o'clock I naturally stay. A walk after that, thro' all the lanes, will be delightful.

What a tremendous fellow is Ruy de Silva!1 There comes a voice from him as if from a Sanhedrin of Vampyres,—fit to drink the life-blood of the world!

Yours always /

T. Carlyle
