TC TO JOSEPH EDLESTON
Chelsea, 4 March, 1848—
Dear Sir,
Your Letter of this morning gives me perfect satisfaction as to all my Queries;1 I have introduced the due corrections and indications into my Copy of the Book on Cromwell, and the History shall profit by all you have told me, whenever the opportunity of a new Edition occurs.
For the present, I can only thank you for the great trouble you have taken, and the kind and faithful service you have done.
If I ever come again to Cambridge, I shall hope to examine the Admission Book of Sidney Sussex College along with you, and to thank you in person.
I remain, with many good wishes, / very sincerely yours,
T. Carlyle
