1. Watts replied from the British Museum, 30 March: “The narrative of Cliffe given in Borlace and the manuscripts in 4739 … are identical. The manuscript which as you observe is defective both at the beginning and end wants after all only about fifteen lines in the one place and three in the other to be complete.”
