Dear Christie,

I will come if I possibly can,—or if not, endeavour to send a Substitute, unconnected with the business,1 and who wd not otherwise be there; which will have the same effect for your operation.

I am endlessly bothered here with confused affairs; and seldom get out till Twilight,—the time the Owls generally begin to astir!
