Did I remember, last night, in my great hurry, to tell you that the dates (in the First Two Silesian Wars, where alone there cd be doubt upon it) were always n. s.?1

Item I have a kind of feeling that I told you Friedrich's Birthday was the 12th of Jany;—or perhaps I didn't[.] It is the 24th Jany beyond doubt or dispute!— I rather think this of the Birthday question will be the usefullest for me,—the likeliest to yield some fruit. You may look into that instance, or half-instance whh Walpole gave us;2 that, at any rate; and see whether the Papers notice it at all. Do not mind the Battles much by any means; merely glance to see whether there is anything likely, or nothing.
