TC TO HARRIET GROTE
Chelsea, 10 july, 1855—
Dear Mrs Grote,
I am very glad to hear you are got home again. Montégut has not sent me the least word; nor have I got the old Vie de Voltaire from him;1 which I wanted much to have of my own, intending (in the total want of Indexes &c) to write freely on the margins of it.— Your Books are all here and safe. I will with great pleasure come up on Thursday about half past 3, to see what more you have got.
With many thanks & regards, I am always
Yours sincerely /
T. Carlyle
