TC TO RICHARD MONCKTON MILNES
Chelsea, 6 Novr, 1855—
Last night I learn that it was Mauritius Lowe their Father, actually, who saved the late immortal Turner from his Barber's shop,3 and made a Welt-berühmter [world-famous man] of him;—and that poor Miss Lowe learned drawing beside him, under her Father's tuition. Have you no enthusiasm left?— The Subscription, I am told, goes on handsomely.4 At lowest there is no want of Penny Letters about it.
Thursday 7 p. m.—
Yours ever truly /
