The envelope contained clippings, sent to TC by Edward Everett (1794–1865), of a report in the Boston Daily Courier,10 April, of Everett's presentation of the tithe book of Ecton parish (see TC to HTW, 19 Dec. 1854) to the Massachusetts Historical Society at a ceremony inaugurating the bronze statue of Benjamin Franklin outside City Hall,
Boston, 9 April. TC wrote on the clippings (now in Boston Public Library with MS C.1.30) before sending them to Wake: “Boston (N. Eng) recd.
