Dear Spring Rice,
I was very sorry not to come on Tuesday Evg; but a whole cataract of Printer's rubbish came down on me, and I had to sit sorting and struggling with it here till 1 in the morning.
Tonight on the same terms, if I can I will come. Same terms:—as to dinner, it is a flat impossibility:—and indeed I must beg all Christian friends to be of extreme patience with me till May next. After which—!
