TC TO JOHN FORSTER
Chelsea, 13 Novr, 1858—
Dear Forster,
I suppose I had better come all the same,—tho' it is clean against rule; indeed an evident sin I am led into! If you will be dressed at 6.30 precise (6.15 for 6.30), that will be my time for catching you at the foot of the stairs; and we shall have plenty of time still before the August Functionary1 make his appearance.
I grieve to report my poor Wife still not the least better this morning; worse rather (we may fancy), for it is the third night of no-sleep!
Yours ever truly (with kind regards to a certain Lady2 if she will accept them),
T. Carlyle
