Dear Neuberg,—Come tomorrow evg, if you can. And bring Preuss vol 7 [I?],1 if you can quite spare it, for it is occasionally wanted here.—I am extremely miserable; in the agonies of getting into work again, and so weak, so bothered, and my hand so out, that I absolutely cannot!2 There was never any task half as damnable as this I have now on my hands, or so like breaking my heart if I ever do get done with it! But I was a fool; & a man must drink as he has brewed.
