TC TO JOHN STUART MILL

4. Ampton Street / Monday Morning [12 March 1832].

My Dear Sir,

You had not been gone half an hour till I remembered that I had engaged you for an evening whereon I myself was already engaged elsewhere.

As you seemed to indicate that you were free for the greater part of the week, perhaps Thursday Evening, at the same hour, will do as well. If so, be so good as let me know, that I may warn Fraser in time.

Mit Gruss und Heil [with greetings and good wishes]!

Your's always, /

T. Carlyle—
