TC TO JOHN STUART MILL
[25 June 1836]
My dear Mill,
Here is the remainder of that Mirabeau; which, by the great blessing of Heaven, I got done with, last night. May you like it! (as the Hostesses say), or tolerate it!
Can you send me the Newspaper which contains Melbourne's Norton-Trial?1 This with the Dd Necklace if you have done with it.
I fear there is little improvement at Kensington,2 little perceptible in yourself. I too have seldom in my life felt sicklier than now. We must hold on!
Adieu, dear Mill! /
T. Carlyle—
